Sweet pumpkin hummus

Hummus is quite a well known food nowadays. If you're looking for something different than you should try this version. It's lovely and smooth and perfect for a party.

For the hummus

  • 200 g pumpkin (cleaned)
  • 240 g cooked chickpeas
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 1 tbs agave syrup
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tsp chili sauce or sambal
  • 1 tsp ginger root (chopped)
  • 0.5 tsp turmeric

To serve

  • 1 tbs parsley
  • toast
  • extra chili for more heat


  1. Cut the pumpkin in wedges place them in boiling water until cooked. Leave them to cool for a while.
  2. Add all the ingredients into a food processor, including the cooked pumpkin and blend until smoooth.
  3. Taste, add some salt and pepper and taste again.
  4. To serve spread some hummus on toast and sprinkel some parsley on top. If you and your guests like it spicy then a little more chili on top looks very pretty.
